December Update

Not been to productive since the last post but have spent more time in the Lancashire area - Southport - Marshside -Mere sands etc.
Parked up at Marshside, walked 1/2 way to the sea, then realised the keys were still in the car, can't print what someone said and called me, so phone the AA and wait.

Above photo's show what the weather was like so not to many photo's taken but here are a few

The next week found us at Mere Sands but it was not brilliant here either, did get a few Heron shots though.

plus this sunrise on the way

Boxing day was just a wander resulting in a few views

The year is not ended yet, so we may get a few more days out before then, if the weather will play ball, the last picture is one I managed to get last Sunday, when the Sun did decide show it's self, in between showers and very dark windy bits.

Recent Weeks

Over the last 3 week end's Trace and myself have been exploring the wildlife around the Southport area and had a fair bit of success, the major coup has to be the Water Rail we got 2 weeks ago.
A few images are below but the rest are all on my Picasa site.

Still quiet at Knypersley

Two weeks since last visit and no real change, 2 Mistle Thrush high in the trees at the far end of the dam but they would not come down to have their photos taken. Same old.

Used 300L f4 as the super long macro lens for this shot

Leighton Moss

After Autumn Watch the place is heaving, I think I will have to leave any more visits till after Xmas or go in the week.
After Xmas I shall be cutting my working week down to 4 days, so I will have more time to visit all of the haunts midweek.
Just a feel for the place below,

The Bearded Tits were surrounded by the football crowd so I gave them a miss, will have to wait untill another time !

GLOSSY IBIS in a wet and windy BOLTON.

Sunday saw myself and Trace traveling north up the M6,M62,M60,M61 and onto a cold and dark Bolton.
Soon located the Ibis in the field behind the pub, a few other diehards were braving the elements as well.
The sun didn't really put in an appearance all day and the birds never came that close, then when the man with the horse and trotting trap came bowling down the road the Ibis legged it.

The rest are on the Picasa site.
