RSPB. Middleton lakes.

Went to have a look at this newly developed site just past Drayton Manor Prk on Sunday.

As is normal for these places you need radar to find them,  out of Tamworth follow the signs for Drayton Manor and carry on past the park, the signs for Middleton hall are the first thing you see but it says nothing about the RSPB, I think you can get in here but if you carry on down the road you come to a sign on the left for Broomley Croft children's Frm, turn here and follow the signs carefully, they take you through the old quarry buildings and yard and in the end to a good car park

It is very new in places but has lots of potential, a good couple of hours can be spent walking around so as to get a feel of the place because it is bigger than you first think. Wetland, Marsh, Meadow, Woodland and river bank are in plenty.
I will follow this visit with another visit soon and let you know how I get on..

Only got this picture of a cormorant but saw Great spotted woodpecker and lots of wildfowl .

Ford Green to Holden Bridge

Earlier at Knypersley on the top pond a  Southern Hawker was laying,  these pictures  were taken at the same time as Steve took the ones on the Knype blog.  Many thanks for allowing  me the chance to get them as he was there before Tracey and myself.
